Eh? Get free potatoes

Potatoes are available to anyone, no restrictions, at First United Methodist in Duluth beginning at 3 p.m. today.

The Great Potato Grab of 2012 is today. OK, that’s not a formal title, but people can get their hands on — literally — tons of free potatoes at the First United Methodist — the “coppertop church” — in Duluth, where the Ruby’s Pantry food distribution network is holding another potato giveaway.

Potatoes are available to anyone, no restrictions, and the event will start at 3 p.m. and last until the truckload of 40,000 pounds of spuds is gone. But don’t dally. The previous potato truck emptied in two hours.

Bring bags or baskets to bring your spuds home. The church is at Central Entrance and Mesaba Avenue.
