Mark Mensing, 52, of Silver Bay went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth

Mark Mensing, 52, of Silver Bay went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

He was born on March 30, 1960 to William and Yvonne (Bartz) Mensing in Two Harbors.

Mark grew up in Silver Bay and was a graduate of William-Kelley High School in 1978. He was employed as a logger and over the road truck driver for 24 years. In 2000, he started Mark’s Small Engine Repair in Silver Bay, where he worked until his death.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR, and gardening.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bill and brother, Scott.

Mark is survived by his mother, Yvonne Mensing (Werner Talus) of Silver Bay; his significant other, Phyllis Welstad of Silver Bay; siblings Michele (Wayne) Fenstad of Silver Bay, Todd Mensing of Blaine, and Kristin Kay (Rod) Ridgewell of Duluth; daughter Krystal Hatchett; sons Brett Mensing and Matt Welstad of Silver Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

Mark’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke’s ICU for their great care.
