She was born in Colman, South Dakota to Donald Dyke Scriven and Elizabeth Buckley Scriven.
She was a graduate of the Granada, Minnesota Consolidated High School and Gustavus Adolphus College (St. Peter, Minn) earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a member of the Alpha Chapter of the Lambda Sigma Biological Society and the Tau Mu Tau sorority.
Cleo was married to Lt. Col. Edward P. Zeidler at Castle AFB in Merced, CA. She was a high school teacher for one year at Tri-Mont High School in southern MN and then was employed by U.S. Steel Corporation in Hibbing, Duluth and Minntac at Mt. Iron for 32 years. She volunteered for the United Way and was an advisor in Junior Achievement. After leaving U.S. Steel, Cleo was a substitute teacher at Grand Rapids Middle School and High School for 7 years. Cleo enjoyed entertaining and having dinners with her family and friends. She was a generous and loving wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and great-aunt. She will be sadly missed by all those whose hearts she touched.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Edward P. Zeidler, U.S. Air Force, retired; parents; sister, Lois; and brother: Donald.
Cleo is survived by son, Edward G. (Shelley) Zeidler of Mt. Iron, Minn; grandsons, Jeffery Zeidler and Clayton (Emily) Zeidler; great-granddaughters, Jillian, Vienna and Genevieve Cleo; nephew, Richard D. (Janet) Nelson of Hugo, Minn; and grandnephews, Rian and Reid Nelson.
VISITATION: 1p.m. until the 2 p.m. Funeral Services Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 in Anderson-Daniel's Funeral Home Chapel, Hibbing. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate. Interment will follow at Hibbing Park - Maple Hill Cemetery.
