Evelin Marie Medak

I WAS BORN: April 1, 2012, in St. Luke’s hospital in Duluth.

MY PARENTS ARE: Judd and Jennifer Medak of Duluth.

MY BROTHER IS: Greyson, 2.

MY GRANDPARENTS ARE: Tom Darst and Sue and Bill Strong, all of Superior; Lin Taylor of Vancouver, Brit­ish Columbia, Canada; and Bill Medak of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

MY GREAT-GRANDPARENTS ARE: Dale and Pat Piggott of Superior and Robbie and Eileen Robertson of Van­couver.

MY PARENTS CHOSE THIS NAME BECAUSE: Evelin was a name on their short list but they couldn’t make a decision. Greyson suggested they name me “Baby Birdie.” Evelin means “beautiful bird” so they took it as a sign and went with it. They chose the spelling to honor Grandma Lin, and Marie is after three grandmas on Mom’s side.

PARENTS’ WISH OR ADVICE: We hope you will be happy, kind and confident. Take chances and always do your best. Know that you are beautiful and loved so much, especially by your big brother.

SOMETHING SPECIAL: We were expecting you to arrive early, but you “fooled” us all by making your en­trance on April 1, just two days before your due date. We think it means you have a good sense of humor!
