MYRLE LEONE HANSON

Myrle Leone Hanson, 86, of Chisholm, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Fairview University Medical Center - Mesabi in Hibbing, Minn.

She was born Aug. 27, 1926 in Eveleth, MN to Emil L. and Pauline O. (Nygaard) Stephenson.

She was a graduate of Alango High School in Angora and was a Chisholm resident since 1950.

Myrle was united in marriage on June 21, 1947 in Hibbing to Elmer Roy Hanson. She was a member of Chisholm Baptist Church and very active as a Sunday school teacher, camp cook and women and girls ministries. Since 1983 Myrle and Elmer spent 23 winters snow-birding mostly in Mission, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Elmer; son, Ronald; daughter, Julie Hanson; and brother, Robert.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Dennis (Virginia) of Drain, Ore., Patty (David) Tervonen of Staples, Minn., Diana (Michael) Schweickhardt of St. Louis, Mo., and David (Raquel) of Balkan; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Carrier of Summerfield, Fla.

SERVICE: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 in Chisholm Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Erickson officiating. Interment will follow at Chisholm Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm.
