The Miller-Dwan Foundation’s board approved $29,000 for rehabilitation programming at its August meeting from its Van Gorden Fund, the foundation said in a news release.
Awards went to:
Scottish Rite Foundation of Duluth to expand speech and language services for children in rural areas of Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin, $13,000. Courage Center Duluth to support the 2013 Great Lake Mono-Ski Madness, a three-day mono ski camp for children and adults with spinal cord injuries and similar disabilities, $10,000. Essentia Health Fitness and Therapy Center to provide advanced education on lower-extremity rehabilitation to therapists, $3,000. Providing rehabilitation therapists at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior with the opportunity to learn more about the healing process of cancer and the benefits of cancer rehabilitation, $2,986.
