Lorene Ida Fleckenstein

Lorene Ida Fleckenstein, of Brookfield, Wis., was born on July 5, 1920, to William and Inga (nee Hansen) Longdo in Dallas, Wis. She met John “Greg” Fleckenstein in 1926. They finally married on June 6, 1946. She and Greg raised sons John, married to Mary, with children Emily, Claire and Sam; and Paul, married to Cheryl, with daughter Katie “Kat.”

She served as secretary at Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookfield for 20 years.

After 92 years of life and 66 years of marriage (wow!) she laid down the mantle of wife and mother, knitter and quilter, teacher and learner, fellow traveler and friend to everyone, on Aug. 30, 2012.

Services: Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1750 N. Calhoun Road, Brookfield, Wis. Greeting at 4:30 p.m. Memorial service at 6 p.m.
