MEMORABLE MOMENT: Viele, Kotnik engagement

Cassandra Viele of Duluth and Shane Kotnik of Eveleth plan to be married Sept. 29 at the Buffalo House in Duluth.

Her parents are Lonn Viele and Patti Viele, both of Duluth. His parents are Joseph and Stella Kotnik of Eve­leth.

The future bride, a 2005 graduate of Duluth Central High School, graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is a mental health practitioner at Family Support Services Inc. in Duluth.

The future groom, a 2004 graduate of Virginia High School, graduated from Mesabi Range Community and Technical College in Eveleth in 2011 with a diploma in advanced welding. He is a welder for L&M Radiator in Hibbing.

Swimming hole serves as proposal site

Shane proposed to Cassandra at the Smiley swimming hole on Seven Bridges Road in Duluth.
