A benefit dinner is planned on Saturday for the family of Anakin Bushell, who has been fighting for his life since his birth on Father’s Day.
Anakin was flown to the Twin Cities from Duluth with heart complications immediately after his birth, said his mom, Tina Bushell. The family has been staying at the Ronald McDonald House since then, while Anakin is being treated at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul.
Surgery last week to have a shunt placed was successful, said family friend Dave Greene, who is organizing the fundraiser.
The event will take place at 3 p.m. at Horseshoe Billiards, 2415 W. Superior St., and will include a raffle and silent auction.
Donations also can be made to the Anakin Bushell Family Fund at any US Bank branch.
