Children’s Day Camp provides fun learning and community service

Yelena Stoops and Riley Engstrom are decorating fabric pieces to be sewn into drawstring backpacks, which will be given to those in need.
Diane Kaarbo, one of the leaders for a Children’s Day Camp at West Side Vineyard Church, sent the Budgeteer photos of the camp. The church is located in the Spirit Valley Shopping Center and the camp was held July 29-Aug 1. Kaarbo said, “Kids from 4 to 10 had fun learning how to ‘Shine God’s Light’ by making soup kits and crafts to give away in the community.” A lighthouse theme was the backdrop to singing, dancing and games. The church has services on Sundays at 6 p.m.
