SIGRID "SIG" JOHANNA (SIHVONEN) LAITALA

Sigrid "Sig" Johanna (Sihvonen) Laitala, 98, peacefully passed away on April 9, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas after a brief illness. She was born in International Falls, Minn., on Aug. 23, 1912.

Mrs. Laitala was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida (Parrika) Sihvonen, her husband, Ero E. "Lait" Laitala, and her brother, Sulo Victor Sihvonen.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and "a pack" of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Aug. 23, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church of International Falls, which will be held on the 100th anniversary of her of birth. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery will follow a reception at the church.
