A ski resort near Silver Bay, complete with chalet, three slopes and 160 acres of land, is being sold by the Economic Development Administration. The property, known as the Mount Rockwood Ski Resort, is close to the shore of Lake Superior. The Community Food Buying Club, a group of Duluthians attempting to lower their food costs, is now operating a store at 631 E. Eighth St. The club was incorporated in August 1971 with 40 members who each bought shares of stock.

Lions Spring, an artesian spring 9 miles south of Eveleth that has been gushing water for 50 years, has been closed to the public because of contamination. Minnesota Health Department officials say tests show the presence of coliform bacteria. The abandoned chopsticks factory in Hibbing is being eyed by Jeno Paulucci as a possible site for his third Luigino’s Inc. food-processing plant. The new plant would bring 400 to 600 jobs to the Iron Range by 1994, Paulucci said yesterday.
