EILEEN RACHEL HEINIEMI

Eileen Rachel Heiniemi, 92, Warba, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 in Essentia - St. Mary's Hospice, Duluth.

Born April 17, 1920 in Darling, Minn., she was the daughter of Edward and Maude (Taylor) Scheer (Peloquin).

Eileen and Leo R. Heiniemi were married on July 11, 1942 in Coleraine. Eileen was employed at the Grand Rapids Middle School for 20 years, retiring in 1983 as head cook and was a charter member and Sergeant at Arms of the Warba American Legion Post 432 Auxiliary.

Her parents, Edward and Maude; her husband Leo in 1991; brothers, Howard, Clarence, Eldon, Lewis, and Arnold Sheer; and a sister, Edna Frye preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Carmen (Al) Rinta of Tamarack; sons, Richard (Merridy) of Bovey and Gene (Jules McCarthy) of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; grandchildren, Carla (James) Edstrom, Carl (Anita) Rinta, Kimberly (Keith Galvin), Ryan (Melissa), and Corey (Kerry) Heiniemi, Ashley Nayes, and Teghan McCarthy; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Scheer of Cannon Falls, Minn.; and sisters, Ruby Hagen of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Lillian Admire of Prescott, Ariz.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
