The license of a family child care operation in Iron has been revoked.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services revoked Janet Schroeder’s license on Wednesday, according to the department’s website. The license had been suspended since May 4.

Schroeder has the right to appeal the action. She did not return a call seeking comment.

The action stemmed from an investigation in May after the St. Louis County

Public Health and Human Services Department received a report about the child care business, the state said in a certified letter sent to Schroeder. That led the Department of Human Services to conclude “that the health, safety and rights of children in your care were in imminent risk of harm,” the letter said.

Schroeder first was licensed to provide care for up to 10 children in her home at 9613 Townline Road in September 1999.
