Readers' view: City devastated, not restored, Chester Creek after flood

Of the more than 100 trees cut along the stream, we would like to know which two Kasper would have picked out as cut unnecessarily. He does not seem to recognize that the number of trees cut amounts to a callous disregard of the stream and the park. Does he really think that planting a few saplings addresses the scope of the problem?
The city of Duluth has a duty to cherish and to protect city parks and streams. After the flooding of June 19-20, the city had the opportunity to restore Chester Creek to better health. Instead the city chose to devastate it.
