Katie Akervik and Jacob Anderson, both of Hermantown, were married May 12 in First United Methodist Church in Duluth.

Her parents are Steve and Kathleen Akervik of Wrenshall. His parents are Glenn and Laurie Anderson of Wrenshall.

The bride chose her sister, Kari Akervik, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin Reinsch, Nicole Borgelt, Katie Erickson, Erika Bergstedt, Erin Laveau, Samantha Anderson and Danielle Anderson. Janae Sjodin was flower girl.

The groom chose Zack Wyman as best man. Groomsmen were Ben Johnson, David Akervik, Michael Akervik, Adam Gulbranson, Brett Reinsch, Johnny Holmes and Dan Solarz.

The bride, a 2007 graduate of Wrenshall High School, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

The groom, a 2006 graduate of Marshall School in Duluth, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in business. He is an executive team leader at Target Corp. in Duluth.
