A mammogram is a low radiation X-ray of the breast that can help with early detection of breast cancer. “One out of eight women will develop breast cancer. A mammogram is the most effective way to detect cancer when it is too early to feel,” Marjorie Johnson of the American Cancer Society said. “If it is detected early, almost all women survive.”
If interested, sign up with Nancy at the Salvation Army, 722-7943 ext. 102, before July 24.
Then, come to the Salvation Army on the Tuesday for refreshments and education. Rides will be given to the Essentia Health West Duluth Breast Center. The mammogram will be done there and should take about 15 minutes.
After, a ride will be given back to the Salvation Army, where a $10 gift card and tote bag will be waiting.
