CLARENCE "CAL" W. LARSON

Clarence "Cal" W. Larson, 96, of Duluth, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

Clarence "Cal" W. Larson, 96, of Duluth, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

He was born Nov. 7, 1915 in Minneapolis, to Mons and Hulda Larson and was adopted by Joseph and Doris Falk.

Cal graduated from North High School in Minneapolis and the University Of Minnesota College Of Pharmacy in 1941. He was united in marriage to Wardeen E. Johnson on Oct. 10, 1941 in Minneapolis.

Cal owned and operated Falk's Woodland Pharmacy until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the former Woodland United Methodist Church for 55 years and a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Past President of Woodland Community Club, Past President of MN Rexall Club, Past Vice President and Life Member of MN Pharmaceutical Association; active in Boy Scouts; 40 Year Member of Rotary Club No. 25 of Duluth; Past President of Duluth Associated Pharmacists; Glen Avon Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M.; Scottish Rite; and AAD Temple Shrine. Cal also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling, traveling, summers on Pequaywan Lake and winters in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Cal was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wardeen; son-in-law, Steve Rolland; granddaughter, Diana Rolland LeMay; and brothers, Len, Ed, Hank, and Kip Larson.

He is survived by one son, David (Shirley) Larson of Springfield, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Rolland of Duluth and Kathy (Tom) Sykes of Cloquet; five grandchildren, Dave (Steph) Rolland, Dan (Jessi Ronning) Rolland, Steve Sykes, Scott (Stephanie) Sykes, and Tricia (Jason) Wolf; grandson-in-law, Robb LeMay; nine great-grandchildren, Taelor and Ashley Rolland, Zachary, Kylie, and Ryan LeMay, Lauren and Dylan Wolf, and Danica and Audrey Sykes; brothers, Bill (Arlis), Otto (Donna), Carl (Rose), and Bob (Bev) Larson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you from the family to Diamond Willow of Proctor and St. Luke's Hospice for the wonderful care Cal received.

VISITATION: 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 until the 12 noon funeral service in Hope United Methodist Church, 301 West St. Marie St., in Duluth, followed with a luncheon in the church social hall. Officiant is Rev. Laurie Boche. Music performed by organist, Carol Donahue and soloist, Rodger Pearson. Interment services are at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials to Hope United Methodist Church would be appreciated. The family selected Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet to assist them with arrangements.
