Gene and LaVonne Fearer of Duluth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Gene and the former LaVonne Schroeder were married June 27, 1962, in Floodwood.

Their children are Rob (Shanna) Fearer of Hutchinson, Minn., and Kris McIntosh of Duluth. They have five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Gene is retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and Northwood Childrens Services. LaVonne is a homemaker.
