A carwash will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Burger King, 724 Belknap St. in Superior, to raise money for the family of Jessica Marie Nowak.

Jessica was born Feb. 15 with a condition called anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery, family friend Lynette Ewing tells us. That means the left side of her heart gets oxygen-poor blood. She had surgery at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital to correct the placement of her artery and was doing well until last week when she suffered two strokes, Ewing said.

Proceeds from the carwash will help with medical expenses for Jessica and with living expenses for her mom, Jodi Eastman, and her 1-year-old sister, Alexis.
