William "Wille" Lach, 59, of Aurora, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Essentia - St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

William "Wille" Lach, 59, of Aurora, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Essentia - St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

He was born Dec.10, 1952 in Superior, Wis.

Wille was raised in Bovey, Minn., and graduated from Greenway High School in 1971. He enlisted with the U.S. Army in 1971, serving in Germany for two years as a nuclear weapons technician.

Wille was employed as a machinist for 26 years at Erie Mining Company, retiring from there when the plant closed. He then worked as a handyman in the Aurora area until health issues caused him to hang up his tool belt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Pauline.

Survivors include his sister, Betty (Gary) Underwood of Red Wing and his brother, Edward Lach of Side Lake; five nieces and nephews: Michael (Melissa) Underwood, Megan (Jason) Damman, Aaron Underwood, Rachel Lach and Derek Lach.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 in the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Friends may gather at the funeral home at 1 p.m. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
