WALLACE E. "WALLY" STOKES

Wallace E. "Wally" Stokes, 81 formerly of Calumet, died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in the Evergreen Terrace Nursing Home in Grand Rapids, Minn.

He was born on Jan. 23, 1931 in Ottertail County, Minn., the son of Ralph and Inez (Hennagir) Stokes.

He married Bernadette White on Sept. 24, 1949 in Calumet. He was a member and former deacon on the Calumet Presbyterian Church, a member of the Eagles Club, the Mason's and the Nashwauk Lodge No. 331.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lois James and a brother, Gerald Stokes.

Survivors include his wife Bernadette "Bunny" Stokes; a son Edward (Carol) Stokes of Nashwauk, Minn.; granddaughter Laurie (Kim) Ross of St. Michael, Minn.; and three great-grandchildren Andrew Boyd, Jakob Ross and Allison Ross.

VISITATION: 12 Noon Monday, July 16, 2012 until the 1 p.m. memorial service in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
