Alyce Bernstrom Rauschenfels, 88, died July 9th, 2012 at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by family.

Alyce Bernstrom Rauschenfels, 88, died July 9th, 2012 at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by family.

She was born June 16, 1924 in Superior, Wis., to Bernhard and Grace Bernstrom.

Alyce graduated from Superior Central High School in 1942, attended Superior Teachers College (UWS), and graduated as a medical technician from St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. She worked as a medical technician at St. Luke's until her marriage to Walter H. Rauschenfels in 1950. Alyce was an accomplished musician, singing in Matinee Musicale, church choirs, the chorus for several Symphony operas, and played piano, violin, and cello for various musical groups.

Alyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bernard; and husband Walter.

She is survived by sons David, Thomas (Kristine), and Mark (Susan) and daughters Anita and Sally (Andrew); eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Alyce lived for and loved her family, and she will be remembered for her positive energy and spirit.
