Volunteers needed at Hartley Park

The Duluth Parks Department is asking for volunteers on Sunday to help fix boardwalks, bridges and trails at Hartley Park.

The Duluth Parks Department is asking for volunteers on Sunday to help fix boardwalks, bridges and trails at Hartley Park.

Volunteers are needed from 2 to 5 p.m. Tall, waterproof boots are recommended. Bring work gloves, wheelbarrows, shovels, crowbars, socket-wrench sets, hammers, heavy-duty car jacks and large rock bars/chisels. Battery-operated tools such as power drills and circular saws also are needed.

Preregistration is encouraged. Contact Cheryl Skafte at (218) 730-4334 or e-mail her at cskafte@duluthmn.gov to register as a Hartley Park project volunteer by 11 a.m. on Sunday. You will receive confirmation for your participation by noon. More than 50 volunteers are needed.
