Closed or canceled

  • Hermantown Community Church Wednesday evening service is canceled.

  • Miller Hill Mall in Duluth is closed due to its transformers being underwater, a mall official said.

  • Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College

  • Duluth City Hall is closed today. Nonessential city employees should not report to work today.

  • Duluth public libraries are closed.

  • St. Louis County Historical Society's antique appraisal at the Depot in Duluth

  • St Louis County Courthouse court sessions are canceled. The courthouse and buildings are open.

  • The Carlton County Courthouse, Carlton County Community Services Building, and other Carlton County owned public facilities are closed today due to weather and flooding road conditions.

  • Northern Division Membership meeting and its Duluth office

  • Great Downtown Council's Downtown Live: Strengthening Ties, Campus to Community with UMD Chancellor Lendley Black and Duluth Mayor Don Ness

  • The St. Louis River is rising rapidly in Cloquet and the USG plant, right along the river’s banks, has closed today with the company sending their employees home, according to the Pine Journal.

  • Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra news conference introducing new music director Dirk Meyer is canceled.

  • Skating at Duluth Heritage Sports Center

  • Three Duluth postal stations: Civic Center Station, 515 W. 1st St., Lakeside Station, 4427 E. Superior St., and Miller Hill Station at 4903 Matterhorn Dr. are closed until further notice. Today’s mail has been sorted and delivered to Post Office Boxes at the Civic Center Station. All other stations and branches of the Duluth Post Office remain open at this time (11:29 a.m.)

  • Hermantown city offices have closed as of 11 a.m. Wednesday. City of Hermantown is advising against all travel. Numerous city and county roads in Hermantown are flooded, making travel difficult. The city has some damage on some city streets, including, but may not be limited to, Okerstrom Road.

  • Human Development Center offices in Duluth, Superior and Cloquet have closed for the day.

  • Family council at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation for Thursday is canceled.

  • Officials at Sappi Fine Papers in Cloquet closed the pulp mill and paper machine at the plant on the banks of the rapidly rising St. Louis River “as a precautionary move to protect our assets.” The company expects to resume operations Thursday. Earlier Wednesday, USG Co. in Cloquet, also on the banks of the river, closed down due to flooding.

    Postponed

  • Grassroots news conference with Jim Carlson and Tim Davis will be postponed to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 27.

  • The Guns-n-Hoses event, originally scheduled for Thursday, due to field conditions at Wade Stadium. Further details will follow.

  • Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra's annual meeting scheduled is postponed until noon Thursday at the Kitchi Gammi Club in Duluth.
