Flash flood warning issued for Duluth, eastern Iron Range

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Duluth and the eastern Iron Range until midnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Duluth and the eastern Iron Range until midnight.

The warning covers southern St. Louis, southern Lake, southeastern Itasca and northeastern Aitkin counties, including these towns: Duluth, Hibbing, Chisholm, Virginia, Eveleth, Gilbert, Aurora, Brimson, Two Harbors, Brookston, Floodwood, Cotton and Canyon.

Through 6:30 p.m., radar had indicated rainfall of 2 to 3 inches in the past two hours over much of the warning area. Additional rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is possible in the same area over the course of the evening.
