Ruth Naomi (Framstad) Steen, passed away on June 9, 2012 in Eden Prairie, Minn.
She was born in Valley City, N.D., on April 24, 1921.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Speech Therapy. She was married in 1942 to Leland Steen in Valley City, N.D. Leland served as a Lutheran pastor in Moose Lake and Richfield, Minn.; Richmond Beach, Wash.; Thief River Falls and Proctor, Minn., and Rockford, Ill. Ruth's love for her Lord expressed itself in service to the members of the churches where they served. After Leland retired, they moved to Issaquah, Wash., where Ruth worked at the Lutheran Bible Institute as the conference coordinator. The both retired in Casa Grand, Ariz. In 1993, they returned to Minnesota and lived at Calvary Center Cooperative in Golden Valley. Her last residence was at Pioneer Estates in Eden Prairie, Minn.
Ruth is survived by her children, Cynthia (Dennis) Jindra, Mark (Lynette) Steen, Tamra (George) Nelson, Deborah (David) Hall and Rebecca (David) Brown; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betsy Framstad of Marinette, Wis.; many relatives and friends.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 until the 11 a.m. memorial service in Calvary Lutheran Church of Golden Valley, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55427 (763-545-5659). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to Augsburg College or Luther Seminary in Minneapolis.
