Eh? Lincoln Park gets $25,000 for groceries

Good news: The Local Initiatives Support Corp. won $25,000 for its Fair Food Access initiative in Lincoln Park.
If you live in Lincoln Park, you’re probably aware there’s no grocery store in the neighborhood. LISC wants to change that, which is why they entered the “Cause an Effect” contest conducted by State Farm on Facebook.
The Lincoln Park effort made the finals and then finished in the top 40, good enough for a $25,000 grant.
LISC’s pitch on Facebook said the $25,000 would help residents take ownership of their food-access issue and organize a campaign to bring a grocer into the neighborhood.
