RICHARD N. "DICK" CHRISTIE

Richard N. "Dick" Christie, 74, died at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, on Friday, May 11, 2012

Dick was born on Dec. 28, 1937.

Dick was owner of Christie Lithograph & Printing Company until his retirement in 1995. He was a lifelong member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church and an ordained elder. He supported and volunteered at the Damiano Soup Kitchen for over 20 years. He enjoyed golfing with the guys on Mondays and Wednesdays. His two favorite places were Sanibel Island and Island Lake.

He is preceded in death by his parents R.P. and Katherine (Thomsen) Christie and siblings Robert "Bob" Christie and Jean Anderson.

Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jill (Kerness) Christie; children Brooke (Kevin) Roalson, Paige (Rick) Mellinger, Cort Christie; grandchildren Erik (Nicole) Roalson, Joshua Roalson, Jacob and Ryan Mellinger, Luke and Lian Christie (mother Jennifer Abelsen Christie); sister Dorothy Boyles and many special nieces, nephews and incredible friends. He looked forward to the birth of his first great-grandson Cormac Roalson.

Dick Enjoyed Life!

He was blessed to have the love and support of his LPC family and especially the presence of Pastor Kari Jutila. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the staff and doctors at St. Luke's ICU for their extraordinary care and concern.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 4430 McCulloch St, Duluth, MN 55804. Visitation with the family one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Lakeside Presbyterian Church or Damiano Soup Kitchen.
