Eh? Three brewpubs, two towns, one beer recipe

Here’s an excuse to visit three Twin Ports brewpubs in one night, if you needed one.

Here’s an excuse to visit three Twin Ports brewpubs in one night, if you needed one.

Fitger’s Brewhouse Beer, Thirsty Pagan Brewing and Carmody Irish Pub and Brewing are celebrating American Craft Beer Week by brewing the exact same recipe and then serving them at each location on Thursday night.

Why bother tasting the same beer at three different bars? Organizers say the Twin Ports Session Ale produced by each brewery is bound to be just a little different.

“The resulting difference in flavor profiles between the three beers will demonstrate the unique nature and style of each craft brewery in the Twin Ports,” the brewers said in a joint announcement.

You can get a taste of all three beers 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Zeitgeist Arts Café or join the brewpub tour that begins at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Rathskeller lounge at Tycoons Alehouse. If there’s room you can jump on a bus to Thirsty Pagan and back to Carmody for $25 (includes beer and Pagan pizza; check with the brewpubs for tickets).
