Suspect in Lincoln Park shooting has long rap sheet

A Lakeside-Lester Park man with 31 criminal and traffic cases filed against him in eight Minnesota counties was arraigned in State District Court on Friday on charges that he shot a man who allegedly made derogatory comments about him not being in a real gang.

Heroin use increasing in the Northland, authorities say

Heroin use appears to be making an unwelcome appearance on the local drug scene. Five adults were arrested last week in connection with the transport and sale of heroin and have been charged in Carlton County Court on counts ranging from fifth-degree possession to aiding and abetting fifth-degree possession and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.
