Shirley A. Pease, 75, passed away on April 17, 2012 after a courageous fight with chronic illness.

Shirley was born in Mellen, Wis.

She grew up in Cloquet, Minn., and lived in Proctor before moving to her beautiful property in Esko where she enjoyed watching her birds and deer.

Shirley married her husband, Carroll, on Oct. 15, 1955, and was a loving mother to Ken (Britt), JoAnne (Randy), Mike (Michelle), Sharlene (Keith) and Dan (Kim), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Walter (Judy) Seabury and Donald (Mary) Seabury.

Shirley was a committed wife to Carroll ("Papa") who in turn provided patient and loving care to her to the end. Over the years, Shirley enjoyed working at Western Electric, the Wood Conversion mill, Kemp Fisheries, and Northland Demo Services. She kept in touch with many friends whose visits were a great comfort to her. Shirley loved getting in her car and driving everywhere. She loved music, her flowers, and being out in the country.

The family would like to thank Essentia Healthcare and especially Essentia Hospice and Palliative care. Thank you, Dr. Munson, for being Mom's voice and helping her to share her wishes with us. Finally, the family would like to extend a deep and heartfelt thank you to Inger Wolf for the professional and loving care she extended to Mom during her final months. She and the entire Gentiva staff were such a comfort and blessing. Mom will be remembered for her feisty temperament, her huge and kind heart, and her wicked sense of humor. We will miss you so much. In her memory, please plant flowers.

GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Nelson Funeral Care. See the family online guest book at www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
