OLIVER HAROLD OLSON

Oliver "Ollie" Olson, 93, passed away on March 27, 2012, in Melbourne, Fla.

Ollie was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Superior. His parents were Roger and Anna (Anderson) Olson.

He graduated from Central High School in 1936. Ollie served his country in the Army during World War II from 1941 through 1945. He met the love of his life Aileen Sylvester in 1935 and they were married at Holy Assumption Church on Sept. 20, 1943. Ollie and Aileen celebrated 68 years of marriage on Sept. 20, 2011. He retired in 1979 from the Prudential Insurance Company. Ollie and Aileen were sunbirds in the Melbourne, Fla. area for over 33 years.

Oliver was preceded in death by his father Roger Olson, his mother Anna Olson Baker, stepfather Cleon Baker, and brothers Russell and Earl.

Oliver is survived by his wife Aileen, his sons Roger (Sharon), David (Judy), Douglas (Carol), Paul, Jeff (Vicki) and daughter Cathy Gotsky (David). Grandchildren Kim Laible, Kris Berg, Scott Olson, Eric Olson, Kevin Olson, James Olson, Sandy Peterson, Cameron Olson, Rita Cubert, Erin Pink, Ross Olson, Adrea Olson, Natalie Olson, Adam Olson, Lee Olson, Alex Olson, Jason Gotsky and Ian Gotsky. Oliver and Aileen have 25 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: The celebration of Ollie's life will be April 10, at Holy Assumption Church, located at 5601 Tower Avenue in South Superior. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and last until the 11 a.m. Mass. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Internment of the ashes will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
