Sonya Edwards and Lucas Ives, both of Norwalk, Conn., plan to be married Sept. 22 in Maine.

Her parents are Rupert Edwards of Cumberland, Maine, and the late Marian Edwards. His parents are Martha Ives of Portland, Maine, originally of Duluth, and Rollin Ives of Sacramento, Calif. His grandmother is Moya Joan Kolar of Duluth.

The future bride graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in biology and from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2007. She is a radiologist at Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital.

The future groom graduated from Brown University in Providence, R.I., in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He is a self-employed software engineer.
