Health Notes: Upcoming speakers to discuss memory, PTSD

A couple of health-related presentations are coming up next week:

  • Darryl Dietrich, professor of psychology at the College of St. Scholastica, will speak on “Minding Your Memory” from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room at Westwood Terrace, 925 Kenwood Ave. Dietrich will talk about tools and techniques to keep your mind sharp.

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder will be the subject of a presentation from 7-8:30 p.m. March 22 at Mitchell Auditorium at the College of St. Scholastica. Bryan Adams, a senior at Rutgers University and an Iraq war veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart, will speak on “A Young War Veteran’s Struggle to Cope with PTSD.”

    Adams’ presentation will be preceded by a social half-hour at 6:30 p.m.

    Admission is free, although donations will be accepted for the Amberwing Center for Youth and Family Well-Being and the College of St. Scholastica’s Timothy Martin Miller Fund. No registration is required. The event is sponsored by the Miller-Dwan Foundation and the Active Minds chapter of the College of St. Scholastica.
