The League of Women Voters Duluth, along with several other organizations, will be hosting a screening of “Pray the Devil Back to Hell” in observance of International Women’s Day, on Wednesday, March 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Teatro Zuccone. The event is a tribute to Lehmah Gbowee, a 2012 Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Gbowee is known for her work empowering women of Liberia to force the government to make peace after 13 years of fighting.

With the theme “Mighty Power of Women,” the night will begin with a reception and refreshments at 6:30 p.m.

“Pray the Devil Back to Hell” is an award-winning documentary by Abigail Disney, and features the story of several empowering women. Doris Parker, executive director of Liberian Women’s Initiatives in Brooklyn Park, Minn., will introduce the film and highlight the roles the women have played in the community. A question-and-answer session will follow the film.

Those who wish to attend can meet with members of League of Women Voters Duluth in the Rose Garden parking lot at 6:15 p.m., to carpool to the Teatro Zuccone.
