Everett R. Anderson, 85, of Lakeshore, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 in the Solvay Hospice House.
He was born in Duluth on June 14, 1926 to Albin and Anna Anderson.
Everett was a graduate of Denfeld High School, sailed on the Great Lakes and served in the Navy during World War II. He met Lucille Bubingham Cich at Stadium Lanes and they married in 1972. Everett enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was in the 300 Club. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and was a wonderful grandfather.
Everett retired from the Northern Pacific Railroad where he was an Engineer. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he was active in ushering and Bible Study; the Kiwanis Club and past president of N.A.R.V.E. Everett participated in many medical studies over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Lucille.
He is survived by two sons, Clayton (Ann) Cich and Dale (Diane Andersen) Cich, all of Duluth; two sisters, Dorothy and Beatrice; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 in Christ Lutheran Church., 2415 Ensign St., Rev Michael Main officiating. Entombment at Sunrise Cemetery with Military honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
