Tom and Sue Shelerud

Tom and Sue Shelerud of Esko celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary at their family cabin in Wisconsin.

Tom and the former Sue Walli were married Aug. 29, 1981, in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell.

Their children are Joe and Sarah Shelerud of St. Paul; Jenna and Drew Kutcher of Johnson Creek, Wis.; and Kate Shelerud at home.

Tom works at NewPage Corp. in Duluth. Sue works at Lake Superior College in Duluth.

Micke, Shelerud

Sarah Micke and Joe Shelerud, both of St. Paul, were married July 23 at Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista, Minn.

Her parents are Gary and Tina Micke of Cloquet. His parents are Tom and Sue Shelerud of Esko.

The bride chose her sister, Sadie Micke, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melanie Micke, Andrea Miller, Jenna Kutcher and Kate Shelerud.

The groom chose Chad Nelson as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Smith, John Gilles, Steve Marquis and Drew Kutcher.

The bride, a 2004 graduate of Cloquet High School, is pursuing an associate degree in nursing at Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

The groom, a 2004 graduate of Lincoln High School in Esko, is pursuing a master's degree in business administration at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in Minneapolis. He is a senior operations engineer at Flint Hills Resources in Pine Bend, Minn.

Activities galore!

Joe and Sarah had an amazing barn wedding in Minnetrista. They had an outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake and had outdoor games, a bonfire and several activities for guests to enjoy.

Shelerud, Kutcher

Jenna Shelerud of Esko and Drew Kutcher of Oakfield, Wis., were married Aug. 20 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor.

Her parents are Tom and Sue Shelerud of Esko. His parents are Russ and Cheryl Kutcher of Oakfield.

The bride chose her sister, Kate Shelerud, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Shelerud, Jenna Kallestad, Kristy Pollard and Alissa Schmidt.

The groom chose his brother, Kyle Kutcher, as best man. Groomsmen were Jerry Medina, Joe Shelerud, Ben Swanson and Ben Woschnick.

The bride, a 2006 graduate of Lincoln High School in Esko, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in communication and business administration. She is an executive team leader of human resources at Target and the owner/photographer at Photos by Jenna Leigh, both in Madison.

The groom, a 2005 graduate of Oakfield High School, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in communication. He is a merchandiser/sales trainee at General Beverage in Madison.

Intimate Duluth wedding

Drew and Jenna said "I do" during a unique vintage-classic inspired Duluth wedding. Their special day was extremely intimate because so many close family and friends were involved; Jenna's grandfather even chauffeured them in his vintage car.

Instead of serving traditional wedding food, they instead went with a spread of gourmet appetizers and pizzas from Pizza Luce. The historic train museum was open for guests to visit and Jenna's friends who are in the popular band "St. Anyway" played folk music during the cocktail hour.
