I WAS BORN: March 2, 2011, in Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

MY PARENTS ARE: Andrew and Jebeh Edmunds of Duluth.

MY BROTHER IS: Maxwell, 3.

MY GRANDPARENTS ARE: Gbai and Stafford Gutknecht of Coon Rapids, Minn.; Emmett Metzger of Monrovia, Liberia; and Elizabeth and Michael Edmunds of Duluth.

MY GREAT-GRANDPARENTS ARE: Ma Haja Sesay-Metzger of Monrovia and Vera Edmunds of Duluth.

MY PARENTS CHOSE THIS NAME BECAUSE: They love that it is the Spanish version of "Matthew" but most of all they love that it means "gift from God." I was named Anthony after my great-grandfather, the late Anthony Kley Yuoh of Monrovia.

PARENTS’ WISH OR ADVICE: "Forward ever, backward never" -- This was the mantra of your namesake. You truly are our gift from God. We love you, Mateo, and pray that you strive to be the best person that you can be and to always keep God first.

SOMETHING SPECIAL: Your arrival went very well as planned. My favorite moment was when big brother Max met you for the first time and gave you a "thumbs-up."
