Theodore J. "Ted" Dunaiski, 78, of Duluth, passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, in Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center.
Ted was born July 12, 1933, in Duluth, to Isadore and Theodora (Kucza) Dunaiski. He grew up and attended school in Duluth. He later worked for the Duluth Mesabi & Iron Range Railroad. He then worked in the ship yards for a time. He married Darlene Wargin on Feb. 1, 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1953-56. After military duty, he started employment with Amendola Construction until his retirement in 1991.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Raymond and Edward.
Ted is survived by his wife, Darlene of Duluth; children Sherlyn (Jason) Eilefson of Alborn, Perry (Jeanne) Dunaiski of Duluth, Carolyn (Ron) Huppert of South Range, Larry (Lisa) Dunaiski of Duluth, and Karen (Mike) Garrick of Duluth; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Valeria Witte of Duluth; brother Clarence (Beverly) Dunaiski of Duluth; and special friend, Buffy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Streitz and the staff of Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center for their wonderful care and concern of Ted these past several days.
VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, Dec. 22, in St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 5779 Seville Road, Pike Lake. Burial at Noble Hill Cemetery, Fredenberg Township. Military Honors by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.
