Free Thanksgiving meals offered in the Northland

Free Thanksgiving meals are being offered at several Northland locations this week.

Free Thanksgiving meals are being offered at several Northland locations this week.

There is one today:

  • Hibbing: 4-5:15 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 107 W. Howard St. There are free meals at several locations Thursday:

  • Duluth: The annual free Thanksgiving Buffet takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. The Duluth Transit Authority will operate a limited holiday service schedule on Thursday, along with special shuttle services to the buffet from select locations. Call (218) 722-7283 for information about bus routes.

    The Union Gospel Mission, 219 E. First St., will serve a meal from noon to 2 p.m.

  • Superior: Noon until the food runs out at Faith United Methodist Church, 1531 Hughitt Ave.

  • Cloquet: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1000 Washington Ave. The church also does deliveries. Call (218) 879-9238.

  • Moose Lake: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Moose Lake Community Center,

    313 Elm Ave.

  • Barnum: Noon to 2 p.m. at Barnum Community United Methodist Church, 3762 Front St.

  • Silver Bay: The United Protestant Church, 17 Horn Blvd., offers a free dinner beginning at 1 p.m. Reservations are required. Call (218) 226-3973.
