Eh? Do you use light therapy?

Do you use light therapy — such as a light therapy box, a light therapy lamp or a light therapy dawn simulator — to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)?

Do you use light therapy — such as a light therapy box, a light therapy lamp or a light therapy dawn simulator — to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? Is it working for you? And would you be willing to talk about your experiences for a news story? We'd like to hear about it. Contact reporter John Lundy at jlundy@duluthnews.com or (218) 720-4103.

Bookmobile out of circulation

Bad news for users of the Arrowhead Library System Bookmobile: It will be off the road until further notice.

The problem is “ongoing mechanical issues,” according to Executive Director Jim Weikum.

They decided they’d better keep the bookmobile on the shelf until all those mechanical issues are dealt with. Weikum said they’re eager to get the vehicle back in service as quickly as possible.

Arrowhead has provided bookmobile service in Northeastern Minnesota since 1967.

Brule tree goes to Madison

A piece of the Brule River State Forest will be heading to Madison next week.

A 36-foot-tall balsam fir will be cut at 1 p.m. Wednesday near the Stone Chimney Road and hauled to the Capitol Rotunda, where it will serve as the 2011 Capitol Holiday Tree.

Gov. Scott Walker has asked art teachers, parents and youths across Wisconsin to help decorate the Capitol Christmas Tree. The theme will be “Honoring 163 years of Wisconsin’s Veterans.”

Teachers or students interested in displaying ornaments on the tree must make their submissions by Dec. 1. Mail the ornaments to Gov. Walker’s Office, State Christmas Tree Ornament Program, P.O. Box 7863, Madison, WI 53707-7863.
