Maija Metsa of Hermantown and Lucas Stellmach of Tower plan to be married Dec. 31 on Lake Vermilion.

Her parents are Mick and Laurie Metsa of Hermantown. His parents are Julie Stellmach Kranz of Tower and the late Thomas Stellmach.

The future bride, a 2005 graduate of Hermantown High School, graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher in Minneapolis.

The future groom, a 2002 graduate of Tower High School, attended Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids. He is a Laborer for CB&I in St. Paul.
