College football: Wayne State upsets No. 1 UMD

Wayne State upset top-ranked Minnesota Duluth 7-0 tonight in a college football game in Wayne, Neb.

Wayne State upset top-ranked Minnesota Duluth 7-0 tonight in a college football game in Wayne, Neb.

UMD (2-1 overall, 1-1 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) saw numerous winning streaks snapped: A 31-game conference winning streak, a 22-game road winning streak and a 17-game overall winning streak.

Before tonight, the Bulldogs had never lost to Wayne State, having won the previous 10 meetings.

The only score in the game came on a blocked punt returned for a touchdown by unranked Wayne State.
