Erin Hawkins and Brad Keifenheim, both of Burnsville, Minn., plan to be married Sept. 4 at the Eagan (Minn.) Community Center.

Her parents are Judy Cook and Dan Hawkins, both of Pine Island, Minn. His parents are Arne and Virginia Keifenheim of St. Francis, Minn., formerly of Duluth.

The future bride, a 2001 graduate of Pine Island High School, graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in communication. She is a team lead in corporate communications for Thomson Reuters in Eagan.

The future groom, a 2001 graduate of Duluth East High School, graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He is a senior software systems engineer at Aerosim in Burnsville.

Paul Bunyan proposal

Our memorable moment was our proposal at Paul Bunyan Land in Brainerd, Minn.

Brad called ahead and asked the giant talking statue to set up our proposal for us. We are the first -- and possibly still the only -- couple to get engaged with Paul's help.
