Take the Kids blog: Pine Valley Tubing Hill

The Pine Valley Tubing Hill is scheduled to open Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 19 1-6 p.m. The hill will be open every day during school break, Dec. 26-Jan. 2 from noon to 6 p.m. After that, the hours will be Saturdays 12:30 to 6 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The cost is $5 for an all-day pass. Children 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Concesssions are for sale in the chalet. Staff are on site, and tubes are provided.

The hill closes if it's 5 below or colder, so call first if the weather is questionable.

Directions: Off Highway 33 in Cloquet. At McDonald's turn south on Armory Road. Turn left on Olympic Drive. Pine Valley Park is behind the Cloquet Area Recreational Center (Hockey Shelter). Pay inside the Chalet, just below the ski jump.
