Minnesota Duluth sophomore defenseman Dylan Olsen is part of this week’s Hot List by the Hockey News, looking at players with an NHL future. Olsen was a 2009 NHL Entry Draft first-round pick by Chicago and a good bet to make the Canadian team for the World Junior Championships later this month in Buffalo, N.Y. As UMD moved over to Amsoil Arena on Monday for a new ice surface, the University of Michigan team also tried a new rink….outdoors….at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines face Michigan State in Saturday’s 2 p.m. Big Chill at the Big House game which is expected to draw a hockey world-record crowd of more than 109,000 fans. More than 20 games are expected to be played on the ice at Michigan Stadium, which started last Saturday as Division III Adrian (Mich.) defeated Concordia, Wis., 3-0 in a men’s game before 1,470 fans. The Detroit Free Press has a story here.
