A four-day antlerless deer hunt in most units across Northwestern Wisconsin opens Thursday and continues through Sunday. As the name implies, only antlerless deer may be taken in the hunt. Archery hunters are also restricted to taking antlerless deer during the hunt.
The hunt is open in regular deer management units except those such as Unit 13 (near Hayward), 7 and 28, which are bucks-only units this year and are excluded from the four-day December antlerless hunt. Also, the four-day antlerless hunt is open in all herd-control units in northwestern Wisconsin.
A hunter must have a tag valid for the taking of an antlerless deer to take part in the four-day hunt.
