Trunk or Treat (afternoon option)
Trinity Lutheran Church, 1108 E. Eighth St., will host Trunk or Treat from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Its parking lot will be roped off and candy will be handed out from vehicles to kids.

Glen Avon Church, 2105 Woodland Ave., will host Trunk or Treat from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Its parking lot will be roped off and candy will be handed out from vehicles to kids.
Salute to law enforcement
Heritage Baptist Church, 2015 Rice Lake Road, will host a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24.
Harry Potter party
Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. Fourth St., will re-create Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade for candy-grabbin’ fun from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Free and open to the public. Call 724-8503 for details.
Roast beef dinner
St. Josephat’s Church, 417 N. Third Ave. E., will serve a roast beef dinner — featuring Polish-style sweet-and-sour cabbage — at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children.
Meatball dinner
Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave. (across from the zoo), will serve up its famous meatball dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Cost is $8. Call 624-0061.
Fall fest
The Exchange Covenant Church will hold a fall festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Portman Park. In addition to games, crafts and candy for the kids, a chili dinner will be served. Free and open to the public.
Holiday bazaar
Norton Park UMC, 436 N. 79th Ave. W., will host a holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m.
‘Godly’ gourmet sandwiches
Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. Fourth St., will be serving gourmet sandwiches and soup from 5 to 7 p.m. every Friday in October. Cost is $10 for sandwiches with all the trimmings and $5 for freshly made soup. Food for children is also available for $3. Call 728-8996 to place an order.
Bayside’s Bountiful Boutique
The Ukraine Mission Team of Bayside Baptist Church (corner of New York and Belknap in Superior) is sponsoring the sixth annual Bountiful Boutique from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 20. The group is currently seeking crafters, bakers and direct-sales representatives as vendors for this event. Table rental fee is $25. Call the office at (715) 394-6002 for more information.
Harvest feast
Holy Family Church, 2430 W. Third St., will host its annual harvest mass and feast at 3 p.m. Nov. 14. The meal follows the mass. All are welcome.
Bingo plus bazaar
St. James Church, 721 N. 57th Ave. W., will host a “bingo bazaar” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23. Enjoy lunch, bingo, crafts, home baked goods, cash raffles and more. Please use the 58th Avenue entrance. For information call 624-0828.

Duluth Congregational Church, 3833 E. Superior St., will host a bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. Cost for the accompanying lunch (served at 11 a.m.) will be $6.50.
Chester Park bazaar
The women’s club at Chester Park United Methodist Church, 819 N. 18th Ave. E., will host its annual bazaar from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23. A luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
Spaghetti dinner
St. Mary Star of the Sea, 325 E. Third St., will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24. Cost is $5 per person or $25 per family. Take-outs available. Proceeds benefit youth trip to Camp Survive.
Halloween festival
Hillside Church will host its annual fall festival from 4 to 7 p.m. on Halloween at the Encounter (201 E. First St.). Scary costumes will not be allowed. Call 728-5500.
Craft fair
Hermantown Community Church will host a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 6. Are you a crafter? Get a table for $30. Call 729-8797 for details.
Thursday prayer group
Salem Covenant Church, 339 N. 59th Ave. W., hosts a prayer group from 9 to 10 a.m. every Thursday. It will continue to meet weekly until there are enough women to start a community Bible study class. Call 626-9133 with any questions.
