Rainfall reports from around the Northland

So how much rain fell across the region overnight? Here are rainfall reports received this morning by the National Weather Service in Duluth:

MINNESOTA

  • 2.85 inches – Northome
  • 2.37 inches – International Falls
  • 1.70 inches – Kabetogama
  • 1.42 inches – Finland
  • 1.21 inches – Silver Bay
  • 1.2 inches – Cloquet
  • 1.1 inches – Bruno
  • 0.96 inches – Duluth NWS office

WISCONSIN

  • 3.61 inches – Danbury
  • 2.93 inches – Butternut
  • 2.51 inches – Clam Lake
  • 2.51 inches – Sarona
  • 2.22 inches – Ashland
  • 1.98 inches – Gurney
  • 1.91 inches – Hayward
  • 1.55 inches – Maple

As you can see, Northwestern Wisconsin received the most rain – although there was another area of heavier rainfall far to the north, toward the Canadian border. Rain continues to fall across much of the region this morning.

Across the Midwest, possibly the greatest storm total rainfall reported was in Amboy, Minn., south of Mankato, where on Thursday afternoon a spotter reported a 24-hour rainfall of 10.53 inches.
